Executive Ghostwriting

If public speaking is the most feared experience for most people, then putting their writing skills on display for the world to see isn’t far behind. Leaders and executives are people, too, and they don’t cherish writing assignments any more than the next person. They fear their writing skills aren’t as refined as they’d like them to be (a valid concern), and they certainly don’t want to take the time to do it.

That’s where a professional writer comes in. We can remove a major source of stress and time commitment – oftentimes for the communications team as well – while providing a finished product that makes them look like an accomplished scribe.

My process involves spending some time with the leader or their representative, identifying the major issues we need to cover and the audience for whom it’s intended, and creating a draft. I can literally hear the exhale of relief when I tell people all they’re responsible for are bullet points.

A Message from the Administrator

St. Mary’s Hospital is proud to be growing as west Green Bay’s community hospital, today serving over 120,000 people.

Through our key focus areas of orthopaedic care (reflected in our Bone & Joint Center), gastroenterology care (Center for Digestive Health), emergency and urgent care (Emergency Department and FirstCare), women’s and family care (Family Birthing Center and A Woman’s Place), and cardiac care (Cardiology Service Department), we are able to offer more programs and services, and a higher level of care than ever before.

We continue to enhance our service offerings through partnerships with several high-quality local and regional health care organizations. These include Prevea Clinic, which bases more of its physicians on our campus than anywhere else in its system; Infinity Healthcare, whose physicians staff our Emergency Department; and Green Bay HeartCare, which has helped make St. Mary’s one of the busiest cardiac catheterization centers in the region.

Providing care for mothers and their children has been a focal point of our mission throughout the more than 100 years that St. Mary’s has served the community. This year was no different, as St. Mary’s introduced more programs to further serve that important population.

Our Family Birthing Center and A Woman’s Place, working in partnership with Prevea Clinic, began offering the services of a certified nurse-midwife. Functioning under the supervision of a physician, these health care professionals blend the supportive care that women expect with the scientific knowledge needed for safe practices. In addition, St. Mary’s partnered with Simon Bay Park Square in opening a children’s play area at the west-side mall. This play area also offers us an opportunity to educate area consumers on health care issues.

We are blessed in that our dedicated staff of more than 1,000 employees, supplemented by hundreds of caring volunteers, makes St. Mary’s the special place that it is. They contribute their talents toward our ministry of healing, which exemplifies the Gospel values of compassion, justice and reverence for life throughout its continuum.

This ministry of healing inspired Madeline Harlan, wife of Green Bay Packers president Bob Harland and a member of our Friends of St. Mary’s Hospital Board of Directors, to develop a plan for the Lambeau Field Inaugural Ball. This event – the first formal event at the new Lambeau Field Atrium – raised more than $450,000 for St. Mary’s and introduced us to many new friends.

Our steady financial performance over the past several years, fueled by the success of our key focus areas, has allowed us to move forward with physical changes to our campus. We plant to continue expanding our facilities over the coming years, and offer improved patient access to a wider array of services.

As the business of health care in America continues to receive attention, our Franciscan Sisters have guided us to focus on principles that help us maintain our mission and commitment to the healing ministry of Christ. We direct our planning toward our Catholic identity, the Franciscan healing ministry, our commitment to the local and regional community, and our stewardship of resources.
